About heart failure

For an explanation of the condition, how it is diagnosed and how it is treated, see Understanding heart failure.

What does investigational mean?

The UPright™ System is being studied in clinical trials. It has not been approved for sale. Clinical studies help doctors and regulators learn whether a treatment is safe and whether it works.

Taking part: what to expect

Taking part is always your choice. Your study doctor will explain the procedure, the follow-up visits, and the possible risks and benefits, and will give you a consent form to read and discuss before you decide.

In some studies, participants are assigned by chance to receive either the device or a similar procedure without it. Your study doctor will explain how this works.

Always talk to your own doctor about your condition and treatment options.
